Intect 7 Adulteration Test Strips
The Intect 7 adulteration test strips detects adulterated, diluted, and substituted urine specimens. The Intect 7 tests for the most common attempts to beat a drug test by adulterating or adding a substance, adding water to a specimen or drinking extraordinary amounts of water to dilute a specimen, or substituting a fake urine specimen. The Intect 7 tests several characteristics of a urine specimen. If these characteristics are in the normal range then the collector can assume the specimen is authentic and has not been adulterated, diluted, or substituted.
Simple to Use Dipstick Format
The operator can use the Intect 7 as a simple dipstick by dipping the strip into the urine specimen to wet the reagent pads, blotting the pads and laying flat for one minute. Alternatively the operator can pipette a drop of urine onto each of the reagent pads. The operator interprets test results by comparing the color of each of the reagent pads against the color standards printed on the color chart on the container label. The color chart for each panel has a range of colors that identify the color ranges as normal or abnormal.
Conforms to DOT Guidelines
The Intect 7 tests for specimen characteristics as specified in Department of Transportation Guidelines for detecting adulterated, diluted, and substituted specimens.
Each of the seven reagent pads on the Intect 7 detect a unique characteristic of urine specimens. Some panels detect characteristics of normal urine, such as creatinine, pH, and specific gravity. Other panels detect the presence of substances that might be added to a specimen to adulterate it, such as nitrite.
|Creatinine||A normal component of urine. Abnormal levels suggest diluted specimen|
|Nitrite||Presence suggests adulteration|
|Gluteraldehyde||Presence suggests adulteration|
|pH||Abnormal levels suggest adulteration or substitution|
|Specific gravity||Abnormal levels suggest dilution or substitution|
|Bleach||Presence suggests adulteration|
|Pyridinium chlorochromate||Presence suggests adulteration|
