Product Description
Data-Lite DOT Version
The Data-Lite DOT version, also called the “non-data entry” version, offers the quickest way to do a DOT breath alcohol test using an Alco-Sensor VXL. Although it is possible to enter data into the Alco-Sensor VXL using the buttons on the rear and front, the process can be tedious and time-consuming. The Data-Lite version allows the operator to skip the data input (subject name, ID number, employer name, etc.) and go directly to the breath alcohol test. Users that input data prefer using the RBT VXL system that is equipped with a keyboard for convenient data entry.
Automatic Breath Sampling
The Alco-Sensor VXL uses automatic breath sampling to ensure that each subject delivers an adequate breath sample, and then samples the breath at the optimum moment towards the end of the subjects exhalation. A manual over-ride enables the operator to test a subject who has breathing difficulties or is uncooperative.
One-handed Operation
The Alco-Sensor VXL is based on the same ergonomic pistol grip design as the Alco-Sensor FST that allows the operator to hold and operate the instrument with only one hand. The one-handed design also allows right hand and left operation for ultimate flexibility. The operator navigates the test menus by pressing the two buttons on the back and a single button on the front of the instrument.
Stores Thousands of Test Results
Robust memory features of the Alco-Sensor VXL allow the instrument to store thousands of test results. The operator can browse the test results stored in the instrument and re-print selected tests. The optional Accelerator software program facilitates uploading of test results to a computer to create a database and reports of test results.
Wireless Testing, Secure Printing
To print test results the operator places the Alco-Sensor VXL in a printer dock that is connected by cable to a printer. This method allows the operator to test subjects without being tethered to a printer while testing the subject, yet produces a secure connection to the printer when printing. The Alco-Sensor VXL is compatible with several serial printers, including the DP1012 and the Slip Printer.
Optional Onboard Barometer
The optional onboard barometer interprets the value of alcohol gas tanks when performing Accuracy Checks and Calibration Adjustments. The barometer eliminates the need for a separate device such as the True-Cal II or an elevation chart when performing Accuracy Checks and Calibration Adjustments, and offers a higher degree of accuracy when using Alcohol Gas Tank calibration standards.
