The Alco-Sensor III is approved by U.S. Dept. Transportation as an evidential breath testing device. The Alco-Sensor III is approved for use by law enforcement agencies in almost every state as a PBT (Preliminary Breath Tester). Accurate to +/- .005 BAC. The instrument includes a mini alcohol can which allows the operator to perform up to 10 accuracy checks per can.
Easy Two-button Operation
Two large buttons on the front to of the Alco-Sensor III control the operation of the instrument. The operator presses the SET button to prepare the instrument for a test. As the subject blows through the instrument the operator presses the READ button to capture a sample of the subject’s breath for analysis. The device displays results within seconds. The display brightens to indicate the final result which can be re-displayed by pressing the READ button again..
Display Prompts Guide Operator
The Alco-Sensor III prompts the operator the perform several key functions. For example, the device displays SET after each test to prompt the operator to press the SET button. The instrument displays RCL (abbreviation for Recall) after displaying the last test result. CAL prompts the operator to perform the Calibration procedure.
Secure Calibration Procedure
The Alco-Sensor III now uses a secure calibration procedure that eliminates accidental tampering with the calibration of the instrument. The operator must place the instrument into calibration mode before adjusting the instrument. This new calibration procedure safeguards against unauthorized and un-intended calibration adjustments.
