Breath Alcohol Technician Train the Trainer
By becoming a certified Breath Alcohol Technician Train the Trainer, you will be equipped to not only perform breath alcohol tests, but also to train and certify your employees. This ensures that your testing program is run exactly as you envision while you also save on training expenses.
We take our instructors’ training very seriously. We know the risks involved with improper testing, and we refuse to cut corners or compromise on our students’ success. You are important to us, and we are determined to give you the tools needed to be knowledgeable and effective in your training role.
We train on all Intoximeter instruments, including the Alco-Sensor IV / RBT IV instrument, the Alco-Sensor IV with Memory, Alco-Sensor IV @Work software, Alcomonitor CC, and Intox EC/IR.
You will receive self-study course materials in advance of the class. Students must complete the self-study course materials covering the DOT rules and regulations prior to class. This allows the instructor to devote maximum class time to hands-on use of the breath alcohol testing instruments and the required 7 mock tests.
Breath Alcohol Technician and Instructor Certification
To become a BAT instructor, students must complete a 3-day certification class, broken down as follows:
Day 1 – Students will become certified as Breath Alcohol Technicians (BAT), a requirement to becoming a BAT Instructor.
Day 2 – Students will undergo training to perform Calibration Adjustments. They will then become certified as factory recognized Calibration Technicians and learn effective teaching methods, an important first step to becoming BAT Instructors.
Day 3 – Students will continue training to become BAT Instructors. They will also lead portions of the class by delivering assigned BAT course topics.
By the end of this process, each student will demonstrate a sound knowledge of the testing instrument, a firm grasp of the DOT rules and regulations related to alcohol testing, and a comprehensive understanding of basic adult learning principles.
This thorough, hands-on training will prepare you for any situation and thus ensure your efficiency as a BAT instructor.
To further enrich this learning process, we provide every student with a complete BAT Instructor Manual, which includes detailed notes on how to present a BAT class and valuable instructor and student resources to help you and your students address day-to-day breath alcohol testing challenges.
This manual is not only specific to the model instrument on which the student is training, but also contains PowerPoint illustrations, suggested exercises, and a wealth of support detail—including CFR Part 40 regulations.
Emphasis on Compliance
As always, AlcoPro’s training goal is to maintain 100% compliance with workplace testing regulations. For this reason, we not only emphasize compliance with the Quality Assurance Plan for breath testing devices, but also train our BAT instructors to comply with DOT regulations in their own classroom settings.
After all, our BAT instructors play a critical role in their staff’s development. We prepare them to educate others in correct alcohol testing and ensure their agency’s compliance with all DOT regulations.
