Branan Medical recently released the Oratect III, the very latest in oral fluid drug testing technology. The well thought out design of the Oratect gave it many advantages over other oral fluid testers. The newest improvements make the Oratect III our clear favorite for an oral fluid drug test.
Lower cut-off levels detect more drug users
The Oratect III detects drugs at lower concentrations than the Oratect. Lower cut-off levels means the Oratect III will detect a larger number of drug users.
Convenient, no-mess collection procedure
The main feature of the Oratect III is the convenience of collecting the oral fluid sample. Branan builds the oral fluid collector right into the test device, so there is no messy collection swab, and no squeezing drops of saliva from a sponge. The donor rubs the Oratect III inside both cheeks and the tongue to stimulate saliva flow, and then holds the device under the tongue. Within minutes the flow of oral fluid in the results window creates a purple-pink color, giving visible indication that the donor has provided an adequate oral fluid specimen.

The absence of lines for CO (cocaine) and ME (methamphetamine and Ecstasy) indicates the presence of drugs.

The pink color gives visual indication that the subject has provided an adequate amount of oral fluid to activate the device.

Less saliva, shorter test time
The Oratect III requires only 0.5 ml of oral fluid to activate the device, significantly less than the original Oratect. This greatly shortens the time spent collecting the oral fluid necessary to activate the device, thereby shortening the overall time to complete the test. The smaller specimen requirement also ensures the operator will successfully collect a specimen from every donor, including donors with "dry mouth".
Detects more marijuana users
Urine drug testing kits detect the major metabolite of marijuana called THCCOOH. However, stet the metabolite THCCOOH appears in blood and urine, this metabolite does not appear in oral fluid.
Scientists find that only the parent THC drug appears in oral fluid as a remnant from smoking marijuana. Therefore, an oral fluid test must detect the parent THC in order to identify a marijuana user.
The Oratect III detects parent THC at the 40 ng/ml cut-off level. Other oral fluid kits detect this molecule at 100 ng/ml, 500 ng/ml, and 10,000 ng/ml. This lower level of detection for Oratect III means the Oratect III is more likely to detect a marijuana user, and also adds several hours to the very short window of detection for THC. |
