The "New" Alco-Sensor III looks exactly like last year's Alco-Sensor III, and uses the same two-button operation as last year's model. Users will appreciate the half-dozen small improvements we've made to make the instrument even easier to use. The most noticeable addition is a mouthpiece ejector button. Slide the ejector up, and it ejects the mouthpiece. Operators no longer need to be concerned with touching a mouthpiece that a subject has blown into.

To perform a test, the operator presses the READ button as the subject blows through the mouthpiece. The Alco-Sensor III pulls in a sample of the subject's breath to analyze for alcohol. The instrument displays zero readings in seconds. When the instrument detects alcohol, the numbers in the large, easy to ready display climb to a peak reading in fifteen to twenty seconds. The display brightens and holds the result on the display for 10 seconds. The operator can re-display the result prior to pressing the set button.
